Week 9 (2021)

Starting at 4pm on Wednesday the 16th I headed into Oregon.

There’s is something called the “Oregon Challenge” in which you try and do the 456 miles of the state in 14 days or less. So beginning at 4pm I did 15 miles in to finish out the day. After that 37,45,41,41,38,40,28(resupply day) 38,40,50,28 and 15 to finish with a time of 11 days and 18 hours.

During that stretch I encountered hale the size of marbles, snow pack, sand wind, extreme heat, burn sections, lava fields and the worst mosquitos I have ever dealt with.

Washington tomorrow!

Week 8 (2021)

Trail has been uneventful, oh wait, I got poison oak on little chezwick😬. The trail is very overgrown in parts and a lot of downed trees across the trail.

Finished out the 2nd month with 847 miles which is 100 less than what I wanted so I’m making up for it now doing 40 plus miles per day (did 45 yesterday.)

Never a dull moment, especially now that I’m applying ointment to my schlong 4 times a day.

Happy hiking hiker trash!✌🥾🤷‍♂️

Week 7 (2021)

Forgot about that 14 mile uphill out of Beldon from last time😓 But I was able to take my fourth shower and do my 3rd laundry of the trail there!😬

Did 22 miles in and was planning on leaving when a camper said he would cook pork chops and pork loin if I stayed, so I stayed. Old station was an eventless resupply and they only had plain vanilla pints of ice cream. Since leaving there my pace has been consistent mid 30s and I’m arriving at Saied Valley next week and on to Oregon!

Where I’m at now is near Mt. Shasta where I wasn’t able to continue North in 2017 due to the wildfires, so I’m excited to do this new section of trail.

Also, I broke another trekking pole the other week. That’s 4 now😕.

Hike on hiker trash!🥾✌

Week 6 (2021)

Finally, finally, FINALLY feeling better. Made it to Echo Lake and pounded 3 pints of Ben and Jerry’s and got back onto my 30-plus mile pace. Resupplied in Soda Springs at Donner Pass ( yes, where the wagon train cannibalism happened) and got new shoes. Left my old ones next to the trash can and they were taken before I left!

Snow pack has finally finished but it was a slog and a bit sketchy. Sent my micro spikes home and now it’s a sprint to Old Station and Saied Valley and into Oregon!

Hike in hiker trash!✌🥾
